Short Description
As an Bar / Lounge Manager you are responsible for bar/lounge daily shift operations and supervision of staff. Position assists with promoting the lounge, menu planning, maintains standards, assists servers on the floor during peak periods and manages property liquor inventories and controls. Strives to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Determines training needed to accomplish goals, then implements plan. Strengthens the food and beverage/culinary team by assisting in other outlets when needed.
What you'll do
As the Bar Manager, your responsibilities include:
- Managing bar/lounge daily shift operations by supervising and guiding the staff and promoting a positive and motivated work environment.
- Assisting with promoting the lounge, menu planning, developing and maintaining standards (SOPs) for the bar, monitoring bar cleanliness, assisting servers on the floor during peak periods, and managing property liquor inventories and controls.
- Collaborating with bartenders to create innovative drink menus.
- Keeping up with industry trends and ensuring all menu items are cost-effective.
- Setting and maintaining high service expectations by proactively addressing guest concerns and ensuring all guest experiences exceed brand standards.
- Recruiting, training, and mentoring bar and lounge staff, conducting performance reviews, and supporting employee development and professional growth.
- Monitoring and managing inventory levels, including ordering stock, stock rotation, and waste reduction.
- Maintaining cost controls to optimize profitability, preparing and analyzing sales financial reports, and identifying trends and opportunities.
- Adhering to brand standards, maintaining effective communication within the department, and analyzing information to support decision-making.
- Strengthening the food and beverage team by assisting in other outlets when needed.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a leadership role in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage operations in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
- Great Hospitality Skills.
- Familiarity with Marriott brand standards and systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English, with additional language skills being an advantage
